Happy Mothers Day!

This month of April has been trying for me as a mother.  My son was recovering from a injury on his hand.  It was tough becasue he is so young and wanted to play but was restricted.  I am happy to report that he is jumping off the couch now (literally) with a clean bill of health!

Beer at the movies?

As I have shared with you in past posts, I am a wife and mother of two.  As you may know or will soon know as you start to grow your families, it is more difficult to have alone couple time. It is important for every relationship for the couple to spend time together. I encourage all engaged couples to enjoy your engagement as much as possible.  It is my job as your planner to manage the details. So you don’t stress.

My husband and I are always looking for ways to have the “precious family time”.  We have found a great resource and I want to share it with you.

http://www.dunellen-theater.com/ It is great!  A bar and restuarant is connected to a movie theatre.  The owners have figured it out!  Parents and their kids can enjoy time together at the movies while having DINNER. I did say full restaurant!

We love it so much that we planned our daughter’s birthday party there.  They supply the pizza, drinks and popcorn and the kids have fun and enjoy the movie.  Now I must tell you my daughter is 4 years old and the theatre runs G or PG movies.  So we are not talking Sweet Sixteen details.   She did have a tiara though. Hey,I am a planner!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

With all the pressures to show your love monitarilly, I found some great tips on expressing your love without breaking the bank.

Excerpt Produced by Natalie Gahrmann, MA, PCC, CUCG, Work-Life Success Coach/Speaker/Author

1. Write a love note by email, on the mirror, on the kitchen table, etc.

2. Send a greeting card (email or regular mail).

3. Give a warm embracing hug.

4. Give a passionate affectionate kiss.

5. Meet for lunch.

6. Picnic on your living room floor.

7. Kiss hello, kiss goodbye.

8. Take a bubble bath or shower together.

9. Make focused time for each other.

10. And, talk to each other…communicate regularly

Neat info: Did you know that the majority of brides become engaged between Christmas and Valentine’s Day? Alais, I do not fit that majority. My husband proposed to me on March 20th. I must share that I was disappointed when we celebrated Christmas, New Years and Valentine’s Day that year without a proposal. Later on I shared that with my husband. He explained that he choose to propose to me on the first day of Spring to signify new beginings. Can’t be disappointed at that!

Enjoy the Day!!

Grand Cascades Lodge

I am writing in a room in the beautiful Grand Cascades Lodge in Vernon, NJ.  It is no wonder that Joan Hamburg from WOR is quoted as stating “This place is breathtaking.”

I was able to tour the wine cellar and the facilities.  Simply stunning.  More pictures to come.

Wedding Party Event by the Wedding Library

I had the pleasure of attending the Wedding Party lavishly put together by Claudia Hanlin’s and Jennifer Zabinski’s Wedding Library LLC.  In attendance were Preston Bailey, Darcy Miller Editor of Martha Stewart Weddings.  What does a planner do after attending this event?  Go get more inspiration!  I hit a party store in Lodi, Micheals and ACMoore.  It was a wonderful event.
