June Weddings

We were honored to be a part of some special weddings this June.  All of our Brides and Grooms touch us in many ways.  We will share some of the highlights of the weddings.

Richelle and Richard - Their love of family and friends was an underlying theme of their wedding celebration.  Richard is an avid tennis player.  We discussed naming the tables Game, Set, Match and Love.

Christina and Steven - Their love of animals and nature was an underlying theme of their wedding.  The wedding and ceremony was held outdoors which included hot air balloon take off. They named the tables the names of animal couples from movies: including Mickey and Minnie, Lady and the Tramp.

Royal Princess Visit

IMG_0114.JPG    Smooth Sailings

Weddings Done Wright was recently invited to view the new Royal Princess yacht from colleague  Camille Cerria from Smooth Sailings.  We boarded at Weehawken, NJ  The first thing that you experience is the sea air.  Next, is how spacious an event on board can be.  The food catered by Snails and Quails was wonderful from grilled steak and hotdogs to great fruit and vegetables.  Borrowing from Camille’s tag line if you are thinking of a unique venue to plan your event, “plan it on water”.

Florist packages

Recently I met with a client who contracted with a florist on a bridal package.  I have not worked with this florist before but Gray’s Florist was willing to adjust thier package to meet the clients wants.

Do not be afraid to ask for options even if you already selected a package from any vendor? Many times the vendor is able to work with other things within that price point to create your desired result.  It is one of the things planners do for our clients all the time.

Inspiration in Holland

IMG_0102.JPGWhere do you find inspiration?  I find my best inspiration in nature.  I recently was invited to Holland.  Holland, Michigan to tour the Herman Miller office furniture facilities.  I was inspired by the Marigold Inn and the view from the lake.  The way the natural blues tones mix with the grass and stones.  The mix of the elements and the textures, while calming and relaxing is inspirational.  See what I mean.

The Palace at Somerset

I was fortunate to be invited to participate in a focus group with the Wedding Salon at the Palace last week. I along with other event professionals from NJ were invited to dicuss trends and issues in the industry.  Afterwards, they hosted a great networking event at The Palace. I networked with colleagues such as fellow event planners, Jenny Orsini from Pampered Bride Weddings and Jessica Laracuente from Plan Your Memories, Inc. photogragher,  Mary Anne from Silver Lining Studio and favor and invitation specialist, Stacy Welch of Livay Goodies. The Palace lived up to thie name.  The place is stunning and the food wonderful.  thanks to 4PM events!

Happy Mothers Day!

This month of April has been trying for me as a mother.  My son was recovering from a injury on his hand.  It was tough becasue he is so young and wanted to play but was restricted.  I am happy to report that he is jumping off the couch now (literally) with a clean bill of health!

Beer at the movies?

As I have shared with you in past posts, I am a wife and mother of two.  As you may know or will soon know as you start to grow your families, it is more difficult to have alone couple time. It is important for every relationship for the couple to spend time together. I encourage all engaged couples to enjoy your engagement as much as possible.  It is my job as your planner to manage the details. So you don’t stress.

My husband and I are always looking for ways to have the “precious family time”.  We have found a great resource and I want to share it with you.

http://www.dunellen-theater.com/ It is great!  A bar and restuarant is connected to a movie theatre.  The owners have figured it out!  Parents and their kids can enjoy time together at the movies while having DINNER. I did say full restaurant!

We love it so much that we planned our daughter’s birthday party there.  They supply the pizza, drinks and popcorn and the kids have fun and enjoy the movie.  Now I must tell you my daughter is 4 years old and the theatre runs G or PG movies.  So we are not talking Sweet Sixteen details.   She did have a tiara though. Hey,I am a planner!
